Reorder, retime and remove shots
Use the shot list in the editor to change the order, the length of each shot, its on-screen caption and its camera move.
Open a film and press Edit film. The editor opens on Story and sound. The Shots list is in the main column, and the Live preview, Last render and Director tabs are beside it (below it on a phone). The opening shot is marked Hook, and generated hero shots are marked AI shot.
- To reorder, drag a shot by the handle on its left.
- To change length, press − or +. Each press is 0.2 seconds; a shot can run from 0.6 to 10 seconds.
- To put text on screen for that shot, type in On-screen caption (optional). Leave it empty for none.
- To change the camera move, pick from the menu: Push in, Pull out, Orbit left, Orbit right, Crane up, Crane down, Pan or Hold.
- To remove a shot, press the × at the end of its row. The last remaining shot cannot be removed.
- Press Apply changes. Only the parts you changed are rendered again, and you are taken back to the film page while it renders.
The live preview has no music or transitions; the render adds them. A shot you have changed shows a rough version of its new camera move in the preview. Last render plays the current finished film. Discard throws away everything since your last apply.
If a render is already running, you can keep editing, but Apply changes waits until it finishes.
