Listing video from photos

Make a listing video from the photos you already paid for

We uploaded 23 photos of a brick house on an acre. The film used 16 of them, ran 57 seconds, and opened on the back of the house rather than the front. Here is why, and how to get the same result from your own photos.

What happened to those 23 photos

Seven photos were left out. The planner drops near duplicates and weaker angles, and you can see exactly which ones in the before and after on our homepage. The rear exterior opened the film because it showed the brick, the lawn and the scale of the lot in one frame. The front elevation came second, held still for four seconds.

The pool got two shots, the second one 5.8 seconds long, pulling back from the water to the house. A guest bath got 2.3 seconds and no caption. That spread, from about two seconds to nearly six, is what makes a photo to video edit feel cut rather than generated.

The square cut of that film. Real listing photos; demo address and price.

How many photos to upload

Between 10 and 25 works best. The minimum is 3 and the limit is 40 per listing, but past 25 you are mostly adding angles that will be left out. A 1,100 sq ft two bedroom condo rarely needs more than 15. A five bedroom house with a pool and grounds can use 25.

Files can be JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 25 MB each. Anything left out stays in the listing, marked, so you can bring it back with one click.

If you are booking the photographer anyway

A few requests at the shoot make a much better film, and none of them add time.

  1. Shoot every main room wide, from a corner, with some floor and ceiling in frame. Depth moves need room around the subject.
  2. Get one exterior that shows context: the street, the trees, the water, the skyline. It often becomes the hook.
  3. Shoot the kitchen twice: once wide, once from the island. The film can use both.
  4. Skip the tap and door handle close-ups unless they are genuinely special.
  5. Ask for one dusk exterior if it fits the schedule. If not, virtual twilight can make one, labelled as edited.

Check the licence: most listing photography agreements cover marketing the property, video included, but some limit use. Our guide to listing photos that make a great film goes room by room.

Phone photos work, within limits

A recent phone shooting in its wide mode, held level, in daylight, gives usable shots. Two things sink them: tilted verticals (walls that lean inward) and dark interiors with blown out windows. Both get flagged on upload as weaker, and the planner will tend to leave them out. If a room only exists as a dark phone photo, it may be better missing from the film than in it.

Each cut is reframed shot by shot. A wide living room photo centre cropped to 9:16 loses the sofa and the windows; reframed, the vertical cut follows the part of the room that matters. Free plan cuts are 720p with a watermark; paid plans are 1080p. For the MLS version, see property video for MLS.

Questions

Questions agents ask.

How many photos do I need?

At least 3. Between 10 and 25 gives the best film. The limit is 40 per listing.

Can I pick the order myself?

Yes. The planned order is a starting point. Drag shots to reorder, before or after the render.

Will the film change the room?

No. Moves are built from depth in each photo, so the room stays as photographed. Optional hero AI shots on paid plans are labelled in the film.

Can I add my own video clips?

Not today. Property Video Generator works from still photos only.
