AutoReel vs Reel-E, tested side by side

AutoReel and Reel-E are the two names agents compare most, and both publish their own one-sided versions of this page. Here is ours, written to be useful even if you pick neither of them. We make a third product, Property Video Generator, so it is in the table too, and we say where each of the three is strongest. We made a free account with each product, ran its create flow with the same 17 licensed photos, opened every option up to the card screen, and measured the films with the same tools we use on ours. How we test is on the methodology page.

Facts checked on as a signed-in customer and from public pages. Products and prices change: check each vendor's current pricing page.

Getting started

The two products disagree about the first film. AutoReel gives you a free plan with no card, and a first film about 7 minutes after you land if you know the flow (its base render took about 5 minutes for us). But the free film is a preview: 5 photos, about 15 seconds, "Made with AutoReelApp.com" twice on every frame, and no download or share link.

Reel-E asks you to invest first: 16 onboarding screens (questions, explainers, your branding), then 6 create steps, then a 3 screen trial sequence and a card form. Nothing renders before the card. In return, the trial is generous once it starts: 3 full listings at 1080p, every format, its editor and a listing website, all watermarked.

If you want to judge a full film without a card, neither is built for that; Property Video Generator's free plan renders every cut, downloadable, for 2 listings a month.

What the films look and sound like

We made AutoReel films from our 17 test photos and measured 13 Reel-E customer films from public listing websites, with the same tools. Reel-E's motion is much smoother than AutoReel's: its depth style moves scored 0.037 px of point shake on 1080p customer files, while AutoReel's generated clips wobbled at 0.15 to 0.51 px, with camera jitter up to 0.69 px. AutoReel's generated effects are its strength: the day to twilight timelapse was the best single moment either product produced.

Neither product opens on a hook by default: AutoReel plays your photos in the order you click, and all 8 Reel-E customer films we sampled opened on the exterior or an aerial. Sound is thin on both: AutoReel's films are music only at about -18 LUFS (voice is paid), and Reel-E's customer films ranged from -11 to -19.5 LUFS, with narration in 1 of 8 and word captions in none.

Vertical 9:16 cut of the house in the pines listing video: a stone fireplace in a screened sunroom under the pines with the line "A fireplace built for pine-lit evenings."
For reference: Property Video Generator's film from the same 17 photos, with a hook, narration and word captions.

Editing after the first cut

Reel-E's Keylight is the more forgiving editor: autosave, named undo and redo, version history, styles, and an AI Director that asks before it spends credits. AutoReel offers Quick Edit (redo or swap a clip, change a move) and a Studio timeline with text layers, stickers and audio, but on the free plan both are blocked at the render step.

Title cards are a point to AutoReel: its intro templates are bold and legible at phone size. Reel-E's default title is elegant; its custom text lines are thin and hard to read over white walls.

Price, worked through for one agent

Take an agent who lists 2 homes a month, 24 a year. On Reel-E, Essential covers 3 a month: $530 a year billed yearly or $708 monthly. On AutoReel, Essential covers 20 videos a year, so 24 needs Growth (50 a year): $599 billed yearly, or $744 quarterly. On Property Video Generator, 2 listings a month fit the free plan (watermarked, 720p) or Starter for 1080p without a watermark: $468 a year monthly, or $348 billed yearly.

Which one to pick

  • Pick AutoReel if you are a photographer or media company that wants an API, seats, a scheduler and the biggest effects library, and you pay yearly.
  • Pick Reel-E if you want the most complete editor and a website that runs each listing, and you are comfortable with a card trial.
  • Pick Property Video Generator if you want a narrated, captioned film in five shapes, cut with a hook, and want to try it free and pay monthly.

Questions

Questions agents ask.

Is AutoReel or Reel-E cheaper?

It depends on volume and billing period. For 24 listings a year, Reel-E Essential billed yearly ($530) came in under AutoReel Growth billed yearly ($599) on 29 October 2026. AutoReel has no monthly plan; Reel-E does.

Which has a free plan?

AutoReel does (2 videos a month, not downloadable). Reel-E has a 7 day trial that needs a card.

Which makes smoother video?

Reel-E, by a wide margin in our measurements: 0.037 px of point shake on its customer files against 0.15 to 0.51 px on AutoReel's renders.

Why is a third product in an AutoReel vs Reel-E comparison?

Because we make it and it would be odd to hide that. We kept it to one column and say where the other two are ahead.
