AutoReel alternatives, plus the three prices AutoReel quotes
AutoReel is the biggest name here by volume: its homepage claims more than 300,000 videos, and it has things smaller tools do not, including a public API on Enterprise, team seats on every paid plan, AI avatars, voice cloning and working Instagram and Facebook scheduling. Photographers selling video as an add-on use it for good reasons. The reasons people search for an alternative are mostly about how it bills and how it cuts, and we go through both below with dates.

The options at a glance
| Tool | Best for | Price | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|
| AutoReel (for reference) | Media companies and photographers producing at volume, platforms that need an API | Free, 2 watermarked videos a month, no card. Paid plans quarterly or yearly; figures conflict across its own pages (see below) | 7 day trial on paid plans, after which the card is charged. |
| Property Video Generator | Agents who want monthly billing and a narrated film cut to the music, in five shapes | Free: 2 listings a month, watermarked 720p, no card. Starter $39 a month ($29 billed yearly) for 4 listings | No API yet (waitlist), no avatars, no video clip upload. Brand new, no reviews. |
| Reel-E | Agents who want a real-time editor, AI generated music and listing sites on their own domain | Essential $59 a month ($44 yearly) for 3 listings; 7 day trial with a card | Month to month allowed. Team seats only on Enterprise. |
| BetterSpace | Small teams who want avatars and social scheduling, billed monthly | Free, 2 videos a month. Lite $29 to Pro $159 a month on credits; 3 day trial | Growth includes 2 team members and post scheduling; Pro includes 3. |
| PhotoAIVideo | Photographers who want an avatar add-on or white label, paying yearly | Creator $37.50 a month billed yearly ($450) for 52 video projects; Pro $66.58 a month billed yearly ($799) for 100 | Free plan is 1 watermarked project. Files are kept for 30 days. |
Three prices for the same plans
Before comparing AutoReel to anything, it helps to know what AutoReel costs, and that is harder than it should be. Its own pages disagree.
| Where | What it says | When we read it |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing page (client rendered, USD view) | Essential $30 a month yearly or $41 quarterly for 20 videos a year; Growth $45 or $62 for 50; Pro $82 or $108 for 100. No monthly plan | 25 October 2026 |
| FAQ, cost per month for individual agents | Essential $124 a quarter for 5 videos; Growth $387 a quarter for 25; Pro $649 a quarter for 50 | 27 October 2026 |
| Help centre credit table | Legacy monthly plans with 3, 10 or 20 videos a month | 25 October 2026 |
Photos per video are inconsistent too: the homepage FAQ says 15 to 20 depending on plan, while the pricing page we read on 25 October listed 25 for yearly plans. We do not think this is deliberate. Pricing that changes several times in a year leaves old numbers on old pages. But it means you should trust only the checkout screen, and screenshot it.
The other reasons people shop around
No monthly plan. Quarterly or yearly is the choice on the pricing page. For an agent with a slow winter, a quarterly commitment is a real cost. When we read AutoReel's Trustpilot page on 25 October 2026, the score was high (4.9) and the negatives were almost all about billing: trials charged after cancelling and annual charges people did not expect. AutoReel's pricing FAQ also offers free credits for sharing a testimonial, which is worth knowing when you read the score.
Every photo is three seconds. AutoReel's homepage FAQ says each photo becomes a 3 second clip, so 20 photos is a 60 second video. A foyer and a sunset over the lake get the same time on screen. Beat sync exists as a toggle, but the clip length does not change with the room.
Portrait works best from portrait photos. The FAQ recommends portrait images for portrait videos, or cropping a horizontal video to 9:16 in Studio. Most listing photography is shot horizontal, so the vertical cut is usually a crop.
How Property Video Generator is different, and what it lacks next to AutoReel
We bill monthly by default, the free plan never turns into a paid one on its own, and we email 7 days before any yearly renewal. Shot lengths vary with the room and the music: a kitchen island might hold for four seconds and a powder room flash past in one. Every film comes out in 9:16, 4:5, 1:1, 16:9 and an unbranded MLS cut, each reframed shot by shot rather than cropped from the middle. Narration is in 10 languages, and captions are word-level in 12 styles.
Now the other column. AutoReel has an API today; ours is a waitlist. AutoReel has AI avatars; we do not, on purpose. AutoReel's Studio accepts uploaded media; we take still photos only, so drone footage and walkthrough clips cannot go in. Its Instagram and Facebook scheduler is live; our direct posting turns on platform by platform as each one approves our app, and until then you download the cut and copy the caption. Neither of us outputs 4K today. And AutoReel has hundreds of public reviews where we have none.
Stay with AutoReel if
You run a photography business and want to push dozens of listings through an API, or hand seats to 4 to 10 editors. You want an avatar presenting the home. You already pay yearly, the per-video cost works for you, and you have learned to shoot a few portrait frames on site for the vertical cut. Those are good reasons, and switching would cost you features.
A scorecard for testing both on one listing
Use one listing, the same photos, the same music mood, and score each finished video out of 5 on the rows below. Watch on a phone with the sound on.
| Check | What to look for |
|---|---|
| First 2 seconds | Does it open on something worth stopping for, or on the front elevation? |
| Pacing | Do big rooms get more time than hallways? |
| Vertical frame | Is anything important cut off at the sides? |
| Geometry | Pause on windows, mirrors and stair rails. Do they bend or grow? |
| Text | Is the price readable, and clear of the TikTok right rail and caption area? |
| Total cost | What did this one listing cost on the plan you would really buy? |
